What We Do

In keeping with our agency vision and mission, our Prevention team provides education and resources to the community and to local schools.

How We Do It

Our Prevention team provides outreach and educational support to our local schools. Our staff also responds with services and crisis intervention to students who have experienced interpersonal violence.

The primary  focus for our community outreach, prevention and education is through the Nevada County Community Action Team (NCCAT).

The Nevada County Community Action Team (NCCAT)  works to ignite social change, engage community members, and take creative action to prevent violence in Nevada County.

In February 2019, our agency was awarded a multi-year prevention grant form the California Department of Public Health. The funding gave us the opportunity to implement the Close To Home approach in Western Nevada County.

NCCAT meets in person on Wednesdays with the capacity for you to Zoom in if it is more convenient. This is a multi-generational group focused on the mission and goals of NCCAT.
